Poetry: Today I needed to cry… But didn’t have the time
September 3, 2021
I needed to cry today, but didn’t have the time
I’d counted on my “it will be alright” to catch up with me
Several things had taken place in a brief time
I slowed my pace, but realized it wasn’t me but the circumstances
overtaking me, which had slowed me down
I noticed on my right, my shadow
Which let me realize there was still some light in my life
Because light produces shadows…
I needed to cry today, but didn’t have time
I had absorbed myself in the impermanence of life,
Life is fleeting…
We welcome the good and enjoy, accept the bad and learn
Neither lasts, so enjoy and learn
A glimpse to my left. I smile now as see “this too will pass,” going pass me as a reminder…
So I stopped and cried, not tears of sadness but of refreshing pass!
