Story: Heading to Transformation Campground
March 19, 2021
The weekend was finally here for the well-deserved vacation and the family was excited. All had agreed on a camping trip to get away from the hustle and noise of the city. It would be great being able to experience the quietness of outdoors. They sang along with the radio and the car was filled with laughter. They were now only an hour from the campground site and since it was getting dark; they pulled into a small diner to get dinner. The diner was almost empty with only about three customers. After giving their order to the waitress an elderly gentleman came over and introduced himself.
“I can tell you all are city folks,” he said with a big smile. “Yes, we are and we are glad to get away for a while”, the man responded. “Heading to Transformation Campground, huh”? the elderly man continues. “Yes, after reading the brochure I knew this was the perfect place to bring my family.” As the man walked away, he smiled and he said, “You will never be the same.” They thought little about the statement and after ordering some snacks to take with them, they were back on the road singing and laughing.
Five minutes into the drive, the car hit a bump in the road. The car stalled for a minute and then appeared to restart and continue forward. Everyone became silent. It was something about that bump that made them feel uncomfortable. Now dark they were all glad when they saw the sign Transformation Campground - Turn right. The road in front of them was smooth, yet they felt the car rolling over bumps. Stopping the car, the man got out to see if they had a flat tire. He found out quickly that all the tires were fine. Continuing, he finally turned into the Campground and found the area designated for their trailer using the printed information he’d received by email. The area was breathtaking and the water from the river was sparkling in the moonlight and you could hear the peaceful waves lapping against the shore. Tired from the trip, the family got back in their trailer and rested for the night.
Sometime around midnight, a loud siren went off. The children jumped up and ran to their parents. Even though it was night, they could see that there was a bright light shining over the campsite. When he looked out the window, he saw men and women dressed in ancient armor with swords. Some were walking around the camp while some others were on horses. Then there was a knock on the door, startling everyone who seems paralyzed with fear. Someone knocked again and shouted, “All is well”. The man instructed his family to go to the back of the camper and then went to open the door. “Here is your armor, it is time”. Turning to look at his family, he knew exactly what the man meant. Stepping into his armor (that fit perfectly), he watched the man place his hand on the door of the camper. “It’s sealed they will be safe.” Glancing back with some concern for his family, he saw five men in armor standing beside the camper.
The man had experienced reoccurring dreams all his life of this very moment. When he picked up the sword, he saw his name and three other names on the handle. You will not be fighting for only your family in there, but for next three generations of your family line. And in three generations from now, another warrior from your bloodline will rise for the next three generations who will come behind them. Your battle ground is over there. God is with you. The man ran to his battlefield, which was filled with the enemies which would plague all the generations after him. The fight was furious immediately, because he was fighting two enemies… Drug Addiction and Alcoholism. After completing the fight with these two enemies, he felt faint. He heard a whisper, “The bread of life is inside your belt.” After retrieving and eating the small piece of bread, he felt an uncommon strength.
Confronting his next enemy, he knew this would be the fight of his life. He was facing the enemy, Premature Death within his future family line. Defeating this enemy would assure longevity for future family generations. His dreams had shown lawmakers and activists within his family who would write and rewrite policies that would affect the nation. While focusing on Premature Death, he was unaware of an approaching enemy that struck him in the back, knocking him to the ground. As he struggles to get up, he was again hit and falls to the ground. Reaching for his sword, he feels a foot on his hand. Looking up he sees Cancer kneeling down and looking him in his eyes. The foul odor that emanated from this enemy almost made him pass out
Immediately, someone pulls him to his feet. “Who are you”? He asks, “I’m your guardian angel and I’m a warrior. I have been with you since your birth. I am here now to help you fulfill your destiny,” was the response. This totally caught the enemies off guard. With the help of his guardian angel, the two quickly defeated the enemies. Now standing side by side, they defeated many enemies throughout the night. Over the river he could see the sun rising up from behind the mountains and with this he stopped and knelt, thanking God for the victories that would flow through his family for generations. He thanked God that the enemies that were in place to destroy his families were defeated. Aware there would still be enemies to fight, he savored the victories already won. When he got back to his camper and walked in, his family were all fast asleep. When he sits down, he realizes he wasn’t tired. He knew it wasn’t his strength as he fought those battles. He thanked God for protecting his immediate family.
The rest of the week was a vacation he would always remember. He watched his family, and each came to him saying “this was the best vacation ever”. When heading back home one child said, “Dad we didn’t go over any bumps this time. Coming upon the diner, he saw the elderly gentleman and waved. Then remember what the elderly man had said, “You will never be the same”. And he knew this to be true.
