Discussion: As For Me…

April 2, 2021

Yesterday’s circumstances, today’s struggles, tomorrow’s uncertainty. Far too many are entertaining this discussion. “I’m drained of always seeming to hustle through life or keeping my head just above water.” Many having struggled hard towards goals are thinking, “When is it going to happen for me?” Easter is this coming Sunday and I will center my conversation around this time. I knew that there are many religions around the world, but I was unaware of just how many. Googled: ‘it records how many known religions in the world’ and the answer was some 4,300. In the US there are 310 religions and denominations recorded. I couldn’t even imagine the number was so high!

We don’t have to speculate why there is no Peace on Earth and Goodwill towards Men. With the shootings, mass murders, sex trafficking and physical abuse in each stage of human life (from child abuse to senior abuse). This Discussion will be of the ‘One’ I follow, the ‘One’ who speaks these words in my life.

Situation: “I’m drained of always seeming to hustle through life

Promise: “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10 NKJV).

Situation: My head is always just above water; I feel like I’m drowning…

Promise: “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned or scorched, nor will the flame kindle upon you.” (Isaiah 43:2 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition2)

Situation: When is it going to happen for me?

Promise: The Lord is my Shepherd [to feed, guide, and shield me], I shall not lack… He makes me lie down in [fresh, tender] green pastures; He leads me beside the still and restful waters. He refreshes and restores my life (myself)... Yes, though I walk through the [deep, sunless] valley of the shadow of death. I will fear or dread no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and your staff [to guide], they comfort me. (Psalm 23 Amplified Bible)

Life is going to happen because we are human. How you move through life is what you have to determine. We are going to run up against many situations in our life, and things are going to come up against us. We are not immune to life situations. What we have is a guarantee that we are not alone. (Matthew 28:20) and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you… surely I am with you always to the very end of the age. Where you lose hope is when we seek to figure out how God should move for us. When he doesn’t move

like we expect or within our time frame, we falter in our belief and some give up and wander away.

One point I understood about being in the valley has supported my stand in faith. The scripture says, ‘Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me...

‘I am walking through the valley’ which suggests I must continue moving through my circumstances.

Of the shadow of death’ in order for there to be a shadow, there has to be some kind of light. A shadow is a darkness cast by an object blocking the light. If there is no light, then there could be no shadows, for there would be no source from which it may cast the shadow. A shadow is nothing more than the blocking of light. Jesus is the light of the World!

‘I will fear no evil’ Fear is False Evidence Appearing Real

‘For you are with me’ this is where I rest “I will never leave you or forsake you.”

We are going to have sorrow, ill health, death of love ones, economic perils, etc. There have been times throughout my life when I felt the pains caused by it. The only word I had strength to say was “Help”. He knows my voice (his child), he hears me and I made it through. There can be many kids playing in the backyard. Yet the parent knows the cries of their child. And even if they are in the house they know that cry whose immediate reaction is to run, not walk to the child’s aid.

I have a sign in my home that displays “FAITH it does not make things easy, it makes them Possible.” This Easter I am celebrating the ‘One’ I serve, who came and walked the earth and understands all our pains. The God of whom I serve, who in showing the highest price of love. By giving us his son to walk the Earth as Man. Who then experienced our joys and frailties and ultimately died for mankind. He’s now seated beside the Father, leaving behind for us a Comforter to walk us through life.

This is who I serve!
